Jos Peeters (°1925) begon als mandolinist bij “La Napolitaine” in 1947 en is leerling van de mandoline-solist en toenmalige dirigent Henri Gamblin.
Samen met enkele andere solisten van “La Napolitaine” speelde Jos verscheidene malen de mandolinepartij bij uitvoeringen van de opera’s Don Giovanni (Mozart) en Otello (Verdi) door de Koninklijke Vlaamse Opera, alsook een mandolinepartij in de suite “Romeo & Julia” (Prokofiev) bij de Wiener Philharmoniker o.l.v. Claudio Abbado. Later speelde Jos eveneens mandola bij “La Napolitaine” en van eind jaren ’70 tot 2006 was hij er eerste mandoloncello.

He also played the mandolin part in ‘Romeo & Julia” (Prokofiev) together with the Wiener Philharmoniker under direction of Claudio Abbado. Later in his career Jos played mandola en from the seventies until 2006 het was first mandoloncello of “La Napolitaine”.
